Brian Lee Dowdy

Brian Lee Dowdy, 35, resident of Pontotoc, passed away of natural causes on Thursday, May 11, 2023, in Marshal County.  A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, May 22, 2023, from 5PM until 8PM, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care located at the corner of Bankhead and Hwy 30.  A private family burial will be held at Shady Grove Cemetery in Pontotoc.

Brian was born October 31, 1987, in New Albany to Gloria J. Davis and the late Danny R. Dowdy.  He recieved his education from the North Pontotoc School System and was a graduate of Northwest Mississippi Community College.  Brian was a dedicated employee with the Railroad System for 15 years as a machine operator.

A Christian, Brian will be remembered for his outgoing personality never meeting a stranger, and his thrill-seeking adventures such as skydiving and bull riding.  His pride and joy was the love he had for his daughter.  Favorite past times included fishing, the beach, and telling stories that made everyone laugh.  He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memories include his daughter, Dani Pearl Dowdy, two brothers, Jay Dowdy (Nicole), Kyle Dowdy (Kimberly), four nieces, Morgan Dowdy Horton (Aaron), Elizabeth Dowdy, Chloe Rowland, and Ava Dowdy, his mother figure, Laura Williams and his father figure and best friend, Spencer Robertson (Holly).
