Charles K. "Chuck" Murry, Jr., longtime resident of the New Albany area and former mechanic departed this life on Friday morning January 4th, 2019 at his residence in New Albany. He was 54 years of age and died following a brief illness.
A funeral service honoring the life of Chuck will be at 2PM Tuesday, January 8th in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care located at the intersection of West Bankhead and Highway 30. The officiating minister will be a longtime friend Brother Butch Nowlin of Greenville, MS. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Murry was born June 28, 1964, the son of the late Charles Keven Murry, Sr. and the former Linda Sanford. He received his education in the Union County Public School System and for much of his life was employed in the automobile repair industry in the New Albany area. A Christian who enjoyed fishing, Chuck will be remembered for his passion of automobile drag racing and repairing of the racing vehicles at the race track. He loved his family and was delighted in the birth of his only grandchild born one month before his death.
A visitation will continue today for family and friends from 12 noon until service time at the New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care.
Survivors include his daughter, Brittany Murry of New Albany. The mother of his daughter, Martha Murry, his sisters, Becky Carson and Cindy Fields both of Saltillo and his new born grand-daughter, Alicen Noel. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Denise Murry.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Stevie Chism, Steve Watson, Lannie Bullock, Brad Allred, Randy Roberts, Danny Roberts.
