David Patrick Moore, 74, resident of New Albany, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at North Mississippi Medical Center.
Funeral services with Military Honors celebrating the life of Mr. Moore will be at 2PM Saturday, January 21, 2023 at New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care with Bro. Jim Browning officiating. Visitation will be from 12 PM until 2PM at New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care.
Mr. Moore was born on September 14, 1948 to the late Grover Ellis and Mary Jane Rimmer Moore. He was a graduate of W. P. Daniel High School and Southern Miss University with a bachelor in business and marketing. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was employed as a Special Education Teacher with Ingomar High School for over 15 years before retirement.
Patriarch of his family, Mr. Moore was also known as "Grandave" and "Dan-Dan" by his much adored grandchildren. He cherished every opportunity that he shared with his much loved family. Many characteristics describe Mr. Moore such as happy, kind, generous, and helpful. A talented drummer with the "Dukes" Band, he was also a skilled craftsman, sailor, avid reader and enjoyed walking his dog exactly five times a day.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 39 years, Judith "Jude" Russell Moore, two daughters, Erin "Tiny Jane" Moore (Robert )of Chatanooga, TN and Alena "Lanie" Brown (Jon) of Oxford, one sister, Barbara McAnally (Steve), three brothers, Grover "Butch" Moore (Francis), Mike Moore (Sherry) and Robert "Bob" Moore, four grandchildren, Caden "Peanut" Moore, Chloe "Yoby" Moore, Madison "Maggie" Moore Phillips, Mayzie "Kayte" Moore Raines, his beloved canine companions, Izzy and Lucy, and a host of nieces and nephews.
