Doyle Gene Hannah

Doyle Gene Hannah, 52, resident of Greenwood, passed away Monday August 22, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. A memorial service honoring the life of Mr. Hannah will be announced at a later date.  

Born September 19, 1969 in Holmes County, he was the son of the late Tommy and Carolyn Smith Hannah.  He received his education at the Greenwood public school district and was employed as a machine operator in the furniture industry, as long as his health allowed.  

A Christian, Mr. Hannah adored his family, especially his daughters.  He made everyone around him laugh.  Although he had a goofy personality, he never met a stranger.  To keep peace he always agreed with everyone. 

In his early years you could find him outdoors listening to music, fishing, pitching horseshoes or sitting at a table playing cards or dominoes. 

Those left to cherish his memories include two daughters, Mackenzie Beaty and Jenna Hannah, and one stepdaughter, Madison King, all of New Albany.  One sister, Sissy Hannah, two brothers, Thomas Hannah and David Hannah, a niece Tiffany Hannah and his caretaker Steve Rape, along with a host of nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one daughter, Gwendolyn Hannah, one sister Shelia Hamblin, and one brother Eddie Hannah.
