Edward Lamar Inmon, known to many as Lamar, Curly, Papaw, Pop, and to us, Dad, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at the Pontotoc Nursing Home.
A Service honoring the life of our dad will be held at a later date. New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care will be handling the arrangements.
Dad was born November 1, 1936, in Pontotoc to the late Buford Washington and Lillie Zachary Inmon. He was a graduate of Pontotoc High School and was a legendary Pipe Welder where he welded on nuclear subs and ships. He was a Piping Superintendent with Bechtel Power Corporation for over twenty-five years. Dad was a man who was not scared to work hard and after retirement he continued to drive an over-the-road truck until the age of 78.
Dad was a Christian and enjoyed the simple things life had to offer. He loved God's creation and being in it as much as possible. He was an avid reader and he loved animals with a heart like no other. Dad loved visiting his friends and just being there and talking with them. He had an easy going soul and firmly believed in hard work, helping others, and doing what's right. He will truly be missed.
Those left to cherish memories include three sons, David Inmon (Donna), William Edward "Eddie" Inmon (Dorie), and Joey Lynn Inmon (Lisa), one sister, Opal Godwin, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
