Visitation will be 1 PM until 2 PM at Faith Assembly of God Church on Sunday. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Covington, TN, on Monday, August 21, 2023, at 11 AM.
Born February 28, 1945 in Kizer, AR, Mrs. Cox was the daughter of the late Edward and Evelyn Hudson. She received her education from the Kizer Arkansas Public School System and was married to her beloved husband, James Purvis "Jimmy" Cox, who preceded her on April 9, 2016. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker for most of her life.
A devout Christian woman, Mrs. Cox was a longtime member of Faith Assembly of God Church. She was active in church activities, helping in many ministries, and was a faithful prayer warrior. Mrs. Cox never shied away from voicing her opinion and was certain that her way was always the right way. She loved her "Bing" and dressed extremely fashionable, while always making sure to hug and "sweet talk" all the men. She loved her family and grandchildren supremely and made sure to have a hand in raising her grandson, Brandon Harris. Many words could be used to characterize Mrs. Cox, as she was outspoken, feisty, sparkly, fun and yet generous, hospitable, and compassionate. She lived a full and fruitful life and we find comfort in knowing that she was greeted into Heaven with the words, "Well done good and faithful Servant".
Those left to cherish her memories include two daughters, Lesia Abby (Jack) and Jerrie Lynn Carney, one son, Steven A. Harris, one brother, Robert M Hudson, ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and two special friends, Penny Smith and Tasha Swan.
She is also preceded in death by one daughter, Penny Ferrel, three sons, Jeff Harris, John Paul Harris and Everette Gordon Harris Jr., three brothers, Jerry, Donald, and Jackie Hudson, two grandsons, Jessie Harris and Billy W. Corney, and one granddaughter, Bobby Joe Ferrell, and one brother in law, Billy E. Carney.
