H.L. Polston Jr, 92, resident of Potts Camp, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo. Born February 11, 1931, in Tuckerman/Newport, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Dollie and Homer L. Polston. H.L., a member of Bethlehem Pentecostal Church enjoyed attending church and sharing time with his family and especially his grandchildren. A Veteran of the United States Army and retired employee of 42 years with ATT he was also a Boy Scout Leader, Volunteer Fireman and volunteer with the United States Coast Guard. After retirement H.L. spent much time traveling in his RV with his late wife of 72 years, Mary. An avid hunter and fisherman, he will be remembered for saying "I'd like to make it to 100".
Mr. Polston is survived by two daughters, Catherine L. Polston of Potts Camp, and Karen Polston Knox (Butch) of Mt. Ulla North Carolina, one son, Larry Polston of Salem OR, six grandsons, Chris Thompson, Timmy Thompson, Bobby Thompson, John Floyd, Michael Floyd, and Jared Knox, four granddaughters, Peggy Monk, Saundra Maglipon, Katelynn Knox, and Bobbi Salamone, twenty-four great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife he is also proceeded in death by his daughter, Coy Jane Floyd, two sisters and two brothers.
