Jimmy Martin Kent

Mr. Jimmy Martin Kent, 70, resident of New Albany, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023 at his home in New Albany.

Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Kent will be 1PM Monday, October 23, 2023, at Locust Grove Baptist Church in Union County with Bro. Doug Horton and Bro. Vic Garrison officiating.

Visitation will be 11AM until time of service at Locust Grove Baptist Church with burial following at Snider Cemetery.

Mr. Kent was born, January 25, 1953, to the late William Bondy and Altha Louise Snider Kent. He received his education from WP Daniel High School and proudly served with the Mississippi National Guard. For most of his life, Mr. Kent worked in the manufacturing industry for Mohasco and Piper Impact and for a time held a job as truck driver with Merit Trucking.

A Christian and member of Locust Grove Baptist Church, Mr. Kent was a bible scholar, enjoyed cooking and loved to talk with friends and family. A fisherman and trail rider, Mr. Kent will best be remembered for the cherished time spent with his pride and joy, three granddaughters who affectionately called him "Poppy".

Those left to cherish his memory include one son, Stephen Kent (Jill) of New Albany and three granddaughters, Anna Claire, Madison and Ella Grace Kent all of New Albany.
