Joseph "Tennessee" Medlin Obituary

Joseph A. "Tennessee" Medlin, 43, resident of Myrtle, passed away unexpectedly at Baptist Memorial Hospital Union County.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. Medlin will be held at 2PM, Friday, June 28, 2024, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care with Bro. Doc Shelton officiating.  Visitation will be Friday from 11AM until time of service.

Mr. Medlin was born on November 20, 1980, in Union County, to Frances Foster Carol, of Myrtle.  He received his education from the New Albany Public School District and was a valued employee of Jackson Furniture.

A devoted fan of the Tennessee Vols, Mr. Medlin could be found in front of the tv watching every sport they played.  He was known to call his friends of other teams and antagonize them for hours, but dreaded the calls from them when his team wasn't doing well.  Mr. Medlin was so proud to be able to see Tennessee win the National Championship.  A giving man, he was always helping those in need with his big heart and even bigger personality.  He will be missed by all that knew and loved him especially his pride and joy, his son.

Those left to cherish his memories include his mother, Frances Foster Carol of Myrtle, one son, Jett Medlin of Myrtle, one sister, Stephanie Wommack (Shane) of Myrtle, one brother, Bryan Medlin (August) of Tupelo, his special sidekick canine, Baby Girl, his feline, Heathcliff, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

New Albany Funeral & Care invites you to share memories with the Medlin family.
