Judy Gail McCain Couto passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at The New Albany Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Services honoring the life of Ms. Judy will be Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 12 Noon in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care with Bro. Brownie Toehill and Bro. James Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 10AM until time of service. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
Ms. Couto was born October 23, 1957, in Union County and was the daughter of the late Leonard Ruel and Frances Billingsley. She was a graduate of North Pontotoc High School and continued her education Itawamba Junior College. Ms. Couto worked as a caregiver in nursing facilities most of her life.
A Christian, Ms. Couto was known for her "happy" personality, and was never one to meet a stranger. She would go far and above to make a positive impact on everyone she met. Described as a great cook, she will especially be remembered for her lasagna.
Those left to cherish her memories include two daughters, Lacey Horn of Baldwyn, and Kelsey Mullins (Todd) of Chatham Il, one sister, Linda Coker of Cairo, one nephew, Russell Coker (Shandell), two granddaughters, Emily Horn, Ryleigh Mullins, three grandsons, Cameron McGillivray, Alex Evans, Jude Mullins and one great grandson Malakai Horn. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jean Couto and one grandson, Dylan Evans.
