Kathleen Flaspoller Wolfe Kemp

On Friday, July 28, 2023, Kathleen Flaspoller Wolfe Kemp, 88 of Bay St. Louis, MS, passed away peacefully at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS, following a brief illness.

A remembrance service honoring the life of Mrs. Kemp will be Wednesday, August 2, 2023, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care with Bro. Rob Jones officiating.  Visitation will start at 11AM and continue until time of service.  A private family burial will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Pass Christian, MS at a later date.

Born May 30, 1935, in New Orleans, LA, Mrs. Kemp was the daughter of the late Hudson Garland Wolfe, Jr., and Kathleen Fearn Flaspoler Wolfe.  She graduated from St. Martin's Episcopal School.  Throughout her life she assisted at St. Martin's Episcopal School and the Hancock County School System.  Mrs. Kemp Married the love of her life, Edgar Burton Kemp III on November 24, 1954, and spent 62 loving years with him until he passed away in 2016.

A longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Pass Christian, Mrs. Kemp was very active in Civic and Community activities.  She was a member of the Orleans Club, Pass Christian Yacht Club, United Daughter of the Confederacy, Daughters of the American Revolution, Mayflower Society and was the past president of the MS Chapter of the Colonial Dames of the XVII Century. She had a creative, determined and strong willed personality. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening.

Those left to cherish her memories include two daughters, Kathleen Deborah Kemp Gannon of Mandeville, LA, Priscilla Roy Kemp Morse, (Barry) of Covington, LA, one son, Edgar Burton "Burt" Kemp IV, (Beverly Stubblefield) of Ecru, MS, two sisters, Margaret Ainsworth Wolfe Carter of Jackson, MS and Augusta Deborah Wolfe Love, (Russ) of Gautier, MS, one brother, Hudson Garland Wolfe III of Ocean Springs, MS, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one daughter, Gretchen Ainsworth Kemp.
