Kenneth "Kenny" Bennett, 36, resident of Blue Springs, departed this life on June 1, 2024, in Union County. Funeral services remembering the life of Kenny will be Tuesday, June 25, 2024, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care, with Bro. Rob Bennett officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, June 24, 2024, from 5PM until 8PM and Tuesday from 9AM until time of service. Burial will follow in Mt. Gilead cemetery.
Born December 31, 1987, in Amherst, OH, Kenny was the son of Larry and Christine Morris Courtney of Blue Springs. He received his education from the East Union Public School System and was a valued employee as a pipefitter, with his father, at Courtney Automatic Sprinklers.
Growing up, Kenny was very mechanically inclined. He could always be found outdoors, looking for things to take apart, so he could put back together and enjoyed camping with his family. He was known to be fun, witty and always having smile. Kenny will be remembered as one who brought joy to all that knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Larry and Christine Courtney of Blue Springs, four sons, Jacob Thomas, Adam Courtney, Hayden Bennett and Jonathan Floyd, two daughters, Brianna Courtney and Addison Courtney, three sisters, Jessica Reeves (Waylon), Felicia Siddall (Andrew) and Hannah Brazell (Garrett), one brother, Kurt Brown (April) and his paternal grandmother, Joann Morris. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Everett Morris, and David and Lillie Courtney, his great grandparents, Tom and Josephine Terry, one uncle, Tom Morris, one aunt, Diane Hart and his cousin, Corey Morris.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Courtney, Jamie Courtney, Mickey Blake, Rusty Grubbs, Dayton Morris Jr. and John Whitten. Honorary pallbearer will be Waylon Reeves.
