Marcella McCutcheon "Nonnie" Turnipseed

Marcella McCutcheon Turnipseed, 68, resident of New Albany, passed away peacefully August 20, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Ms.

Funeral Services honoring the life of Mrs. Turnipseed will be 1 PM Saturday, August 26, 2023, in the Memory Chapel in New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care with Bro. Doc Shelton officiating. Visitation will be 10 AM until Service Time Saturday, August 26, 2023, at New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care.

Born July 19, 1955, in Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Turnipseed was the daughter of the late John Shelton and Bessie Zenna Bost McCutcheon. She received her education from the Texas Public School System and was employed as a Secretary with McKesson Corporation for ten years before her retirement.

A Christan, Mrs. Turnipseed's passions included reading books, cross stitching, cooking for her family, and admiring Gods creation. She believed all flowers were beautiful and never missed the opportunity to pick them. Her love for her grandchildren was unconditional. "Nonnie" became everyone's grandmother, and her home was always open to them. Her big heart, contagious smile, and caring personality will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her husband, Glenn Turnipseed, those left to cherish her memories include one daughter, Rachel Hayes (Jerry), one stepdaughter, Michelle Hale (JJ), six grandchildren, Shelby Hayes, Dustin Hayes, David Hicks, Akeem High, Tye Hale, and Joshua Hicks, and a special canine companion, Tex.

She is also preceded in death by one son, Leonard Wayne Hicks, one brother, and one sister.
