Marvin Leo Horton Jr., 79, resident of Pontotoc, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023, at Desoto Baptist Hospital in Desoto County following a brief illness.
Mr. Horton was born on January 15, 1943, the son of the late Marvin L. and Laverne Shettles Horton and was a graduate of Ecru High School. He was employed in the maintenance industry throughout his life for various companies including Publix, Pilsbury and General Electric.
Mr. Horton, also known as "Si" from Duck Dynasty because of his long white beard, enjoyed feeding birds and squirrels, woodworking, playing the guitar and putting his "personal touch" on his clocks. He was known to others as a witty person who "never grew up".
Survivors include two brothers, David Horton (Brenda) and Mike Horton (Diane), both of Ecru and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is also preceded by his beloved wife, Joan Horton.
