Melissa Kimberly Hall Obituary

Melissa Kimberly Hall, age 55, passed from this life into her eternal home on Friday, January 23, 2026, at her residence in Myrtle, Mississippi, surrounded by those she loved, following an illness with cancer.

Funeral Services honoring Kimberly's life will be held at 1 PM Monday, February 2, 2026, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care with Bro. Roy Foshee officiating. Visitation will be from 11 AM until time of service on Monday, February 2, 2026, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care.

Melissa Kimberly Kennedy Hall was born on September 6, 1970, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Darlene Thies Kennedy Robertson. She was a 1988 graduate of Ripley High School and later attended Northeast Community College.

While attending college, Kimberly worked at New Orleans Famous Fried Chicken and later at Pep Industries. After two years there, she went on to work in a sewing factory in Prentiss County for five years. She then returned to Ripley, where she worked at Biltrite Corporation for ten years until the company closed.

Following Biltrite’s closure, Kimberly made the decision to return to school, where she earned her nursing degree. She passed nursing school with flying colors and graduated with high honors. She began her nursing career at Graceland Nursing Home in New Albany, where she cared deeply for her patients and took great pride in providing them with excellent care. Kimberly worked there for ten years before continuing her education to become a wound care nurse.

After completing her training, she went to work for Dr. Lambert as a treatment nurse. When his practice later closed, Kimberly returned to Graceland Nursing Home, where she served as a treatment nurse for another three years. She then accepted a position as the main treatment nurse at Tupelo Nursing and Rehab Center, where she worked for five years.

Eventually, Kimberly chose to step away from nursing and began working alongside her husband at his store. Later, she helped open a second business, Southern Junkers, which grew into the largest second-hand store in New Albany. She continued working there until her health declined, remaining dedicated right up until Christmas of 2025, when her health no longer allowed her to work.

Kimberly was the proud mother of two sons, Timothy Kennedy and Dustin Hall, whom she loved dearly. She was also blessed with five grandchildren—Madison Kennedy, Katie Kennedy, Shawn Castner, Cooper Hall, and Brody Hall—whom she loved more than life itself and always made sure were well cared for.

Kimberly would do anything she could to help her family, friends, or anyone in need. She was known for her kindness, honesty, and straightforward nature. Kimberly and her life partner, Frank, began their journey together in 1988 and shared 37 years side by side.

She is also survived by her sisters: Tracy Paul (Jeff), Mary Thomas, and Danyell Haygood (Ray).

Kimberly was loved by everyone who met her and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
