Michael Lynn "Mike" Foster, 71, resident of New Albany, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Collierville following an extended illness.
Services honoring the life of Mr. Foster will be at 1PM Saturday, December 3, 2022, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care with Bro. Matt Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Ecru Cemetery.
Mr. Foster was born on March 7, 1951, in Union County, to Schwanda Harkness Foster of Ecru and the late James E. Foster. He was a graduate of Ecru High School and continued his education at Itawamba Junior College for 2 years. Mr. Foster was employed in the furniture manufacturing industry for Futorian and Ashley Furniture before retiring in 2011.
A people person and familiar face at the Chevron Station across from New Albany High School, Mr. Foster's favorite pastimes included hunting, college football, various culinary channels on television and driving his loyal canine companion "Stormy" around town in his old green truck.
Mr. Foster enjoyed long rides with his children while they grew up, and holidays or special occasions cherished with the ones he loved.
Visitation will be from 11AM until 1PM Saturday, December 3, 2022, at New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 51 years, Ardella Smith Foster and one daughter, Micha Lynn Foster, both of New Albany, one son, Seth Foster (Lydia) of Oxford, his mother, Schwanda Harkness Foster of Ecru, one sister, Jane Billingsley (Collin) of Tupelo, one brother, Dennis Foster (Linda) of Ecru and one beloved grandson Campbell Elias Foster who was born on the day Mr. Foster passed away.
