Randolph “Randy” Parker, Jr. Obituary

Randolph Parker Jr., known and loved by many as Randy, departed this life unexpectedly on March 7, 2026, in Union County.

Services honoring Randy’s life will be held at 6 PM on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Covenant Church in New Albany, with visitation from 4 PM until service time. Bro. Randy Hays will officiate.

Born on March 30, 1980, in Aurora, Illinois, Randy was the son of Mrs. Lorrie Rhea Dillard and the late Randolph Parker Sr. He received his education from West Union High School and, early in life, worked building frames in a factory setting. A man who was never afraid of hard work, Randy became best known for his skills as an “around-the-house handyman.” Whether it was carpentry, fixing something that was broken, tending to his home, or even lending a hand in painting the New Albany hospital, Randy had a way of figuring things out and getting the job done.

On January 22, 2016, he married the love of his life, Mrs. Leetha Verrell Parker, who survives. Their marriage was one built on loyalty, perseverance, and a deep, abiding love. Through every season of life, Leetha stood faithfully by Randy’s side, helping guide him, steady him, and remind him of the man he was capable of being. To Randy, she wasn’t just his wife—she was his rock, his safe place, and his greatest blessing.

A Christian, Randy lived life on his own terms. He was strong-willed, outspoken, and never one to hold his tongue. His blunt honesty and quick wit often made others laugh, even if it occasionally got him into trouble. Though he carried a past that included hardships, those who truly knew him always knew his heart. Randy loved deeply, and when he gave his love, he gave it fully.

In the later years of his life, Randy found a renewed sense of purpose and peace through his faith. Covenant Church became a place of comfort for him, and he came to know the love and grace of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in a very real and personal way. His walk wasn’t perfect, but it was sincere, and he held tightly to the truth that he was loved, forgiven, and never alone.

Randy found joy in the simple things—being outdoors fishing, standing over a grill cooking for those he loved, and listening to all kinds of music. Yet above all else, his greatest joy was time spent with Leetha. She was his world, and in her, he found a love that grounded him and gave his life meaning.

Though Randy’s life was not without its trials and tribulations, it was a life marked by resilience, love, and redemption. He will be remembered for his strength, his humor, his honesty, and the deep love he carried for those closest to him.

While he will be missed beyond measure, we take comfort in knowing that Randy is now at peace, embraced by the mercy and grace of Heaven, and experiencing joys far greater than this world could ever offer.

In addition to his beloved wife, Mrs. Leetha, memories will continue to be cherished by his mother, his daughter, McKenzie Parker, his step daughter, Haley Ferguson Gresham (Justin), his step son, Kurt Ferguson, his sisters, Brandy Howard, Felisha Miller, Amanda Millwood, and Jamie O’Connor, his brother, Brandon Parker, two grandchildren, Jasper and Rivers, his grandfather, William “Pa” Rhea, a special nephew, Bryson, his two loyal canine companions, Dipstick and Zeus, and his two parakeets, Bonnie and Clyde.

Randy was preceded in death by his father.
