Obituary
Rebecca Leighann Tunnell, 34, resident of New Albany, passed away peacefully Friday, June 9, 2023 in the comfort of her home surrounded by family.
Funeral Services remembering the life of Leighann will be at 1 PM Monday, June 12 in The Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care with Bro. Jared Busby officiating. Visitation will be from 5 PM to 8 PM Sunday, June 11 and will continue Monday from 9 AM until service time. A private burial is planned.
Leighann was born March 21, 1989 in New Albany and is the daughter of Larry and Margaret Tablack Tunnell. She was a graduate of New Albany High School and continued her education at Northeast Mississippi Community College in the Nursing Program.
A member of Center Baptist Church, Leighann loved children, was a dedicated babysitter to many of her nieces and nephews and enjoyed attending many of their sporting events. An avid Alabama and Dallas Cowboy fan, her hobbies included crafts and painting.
In addition to her parents, memories will continue to be shared by two brothers, Daniel Tunnell and Andrew Tunnell (Brooke), both of New Albany, two grandfathers, "Papaw" Jerry Jones and Steve Tunnell, six nieces and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Mathew Tunnell.
