Robert Daniel Burke Sr.

Robert Daniel "Dan" Burke Sr., 81, resident of New Albany and former resident of Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union County.

Services honoring the life of Mr. Burke will be announced at a later date by his family.

Mr. Burke was born on August 4, 1941, in Cushing, OK, to the late Bob and Irene Pendergrass Burke and was a graduate of John Marshall High School in Oklahoma. He founded his own private knife business in the blade smithing industry and continued for over 55 years.

A Mason for over 50 years and a master at knife making, Mr. Burke enjoyed history and the outdoors that included boating, hunting and fishing.

His family will cherish all the memories they shared with Mr. Burke, and they will miss him dearly.

Survivors include his wife Barbara Wiseman Burke, his daughter Cherie Burke of Oklahoma City, OK and his son, Robert Daniel Burke Jr. of New York, NY.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Burke is preceded in death by his brother, John Burke.
