Roger Dale Goolsby, 70, resident of Potts Camp, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024, at his residence.
A memorial service honoring Mr. Goolsby will 11 AM, Saturday March 9, 2024, at Bethlehem Church of The Lord Jesus Christ with Rev. Steve Wilson and Rev. Mark Johnson officiating.
Born February 26, 1953, in Hickory Flat, MS, Mr. Goolsby is the son of the late Bennie F. and Mildred Cupp Goolsby. A 1971 graduate of Potts Camp High School and member of the Fountain of Truth Church, he will be remembered as a very talented artist, carpenter, painter and musician. Mr. Goolsby was a fantastic pianist and singer with The Wilson Brothers Gospel Quartet for many years. Working for more than forty-four years in the theatrical stage industry and a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stagehand Employees Local #69 beginning in 1992, most notably, Roger was employed for twenty-five plus years as a stagehand, working in the props department at the Orpheum Theater in Memphis from 1999 until his retirement in 2018.
Memories will continue to be cherished by his sister, Norma Spears (Travis) of Potts Camp and two brothers, Billy Goolsby of Pontotoc and Carl Goolsby of Southaven.
He was also preceded in death by a brother Phillip Goolsby.
