Scott Lee Moorman

After a well-fought battle with cancer, Scott Lee Moorman, age 60, fought the good fight, finished his race, and moved on to Heaven’s greener pastures on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.

A celebration of Scott’s life will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, August 7, 2025, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care, with Bro. Bobby Butler officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1 PM.

Born on February 20, 1965, Scott was the beloved son of the late Billy and Drucilla Scott Moorman, and stepson of Mrs. Lottie Moorman. A proud graduate of Myrtle High School, Scott went on to earn his business degree from the University of Mississippi. Though he began his career in the local business world, his heart soon led him back to his roots, following in the footsteps of his father in the world of cattle farming. For most of his life, he found fulfillment working the land and tending to his herd—a true steward of God’s creation.

Outside of farming, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending early mornings in a deer stand, swapping stories with old friends, and relaxing at the barn after a long day’s work. He enjoyed unwinding with his buddies, sharing laughter, good conversation, and a cold beverage in the company of those he trusted most.

Scott was a simple man with a strong work ethic, a deep love for the land, and a quiet but steadfast devotion to his family and friends. He will be remembered for his authenticity, his loyalty, and the way he lived life on his own terms—with humility, and a purpose as wide as the pastures he tended.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Gail Moorman, his step mother, Mrs. Lottie, and his circle of friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents.
