Terry Nell Canerdy, 69, resident of Pontotoc, departed this life peacefully on December 11, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center following an extended illness.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Canerdy was born on August 14, 1954, in Lee County to the late Bud and Maggie Kennedy Gilmore. She was a graduate of Nettleton High School and was a valued employee for Waffle House as long as her health allowed.
A Christian and Baptist faith, Mrs. Canerdy will be remembered for her loving, and giving spirit. She believed in coming up with a home remedy for anyone she knew that was sick and also sitting for countless hours making blankets for babies or whoever needed or wanted one. Some of her favorite past times included cooking, tending to her animals and watching monster movies with her favorite being Godzilla.
Those left to cherish her memories include one son, Bret Canerdy (Destiny), one sister, Holly Saxon, two brothers, Robert and Casey Gilmore. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, John Wayne Canerdy.
