Vida Kaye Ferguson, 72, resident of the Enterprise Community, entered into the joy of her Lord on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Desoto County.
Ms. Ferguson was born November 27, 1947 in New Albany, MS, the daughter of the late James and Mary Ferguson. She was a graduate of the West Union Attendance Center and Mississippi State University.
She spent her entire career of nearly 40 years caring for dependent, neglected children in desperate need of a loving, caring home. In that role, she became a mother, mentor, confidant and friend to boys and girls she loving knew her as "Fur Fur", all because she firmly believed the words of her Savior,"Suffer the little children to come unto Me, for of such is the kingdom of heaven." Many of those cherished relationships continued until the day of her death, lone after the children had become adults and established homes of their own.
She is survived by her brother, James Ferguson (Shirley) of Myrtle, one sister, Suzanne Bailey (William) of Winona, two nephews, Randy Ferguson of Myrtle and Bob Bailey (Meredith) of White Hall, AR, two nieces. Laura Martin (Chris) of Brandon and Susan LaBarre (Brian) of Vicksburg and many great nieces and nephews.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Southern Christian Services for Children and Youth, 860 East River Place, Suite 104, Jackson, MS 39202.
The staff of New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care invites you to share memories with the Ferguson family.
