Wanda June West

Wanda June West, 66, former resident of Hickory Flat and Vicksburg, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, May 28 in New Albany. A private family memorial service and burial will be at a later date.

Ms. West was born April, 27, 1957, in New Albany, to Rilla Wilkerson West of Hickory Flat and the late Eugene West.  She was a graduate of Hickory Flat High School and received her Nursing degree from Hinds Community College.  Ms. West was employed most of her career at Vicksburg Medical Center before becoming a traveling nurse until her retirement.

A Christian and loving mother, Ms. West will be remembered for her witty personality and her talented hands where she made beautiful cross stitch pictures with.  Her hobbies include reading, and her love for horses.

Those left to cherish her memories in addition mother, one son, Greg West of Oxford, one brother Steve West, and one grandson, Alex West.
