William "Billy" Campbell Jr

William Arnold "Billy" Campbell Jr., 55, resident of New Albany, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022, at his residence in Union County.

Services honoring the life of Mr. Campbell will be at 2pm Tuesday, December 20, 2022 in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care with Bro. Doc Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Old Glenfield Cemetery.

Mr. Campbell was born on August 29, 1967, to William Arnold Campbell Sr (Pat) and Alice Johnson and was a graduate of East Union High School. He continued his education at Northeast Junior College and was a valued Computer Aided Drafting Machinist for Piper Impact Corporation for 18 years before retirement in 1998.

A well-known guitar teacher and sketch artist, Mr. Campbell will be remembered for his love of music and his witty personality. He had the biggest heart, would give the shirt off of his back for anyone in need and adored the memories made with his tight knit family, especially his grandchildren, and they will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held from 11am until 2pm Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care.

In addition to his parents, those left to cherish memories include his devoted wife of 36 years and high school sweetheart, Mrs. Lisa Gadd Campbell, his daughter, Ginger Young of Myrtle, two sons, Will Campbell (Morgan) of Blue Springs and Christian Campbell (Shanna) of Myrtle, his mother-in-law Lynette Gadd, two sisters in law, Teresa Gadd Hicks (Tim), Gail Jones Gadd, a brother, Joey Campbell (Amy) of Ingomar, 11 grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and his canine companion, Murphy.

Preceding him in death were his maternal and paternal grandparents and his father-in-law, Melvin Eugene Gadd.

Pallbears will be Sam Childs, Tim Hicks, Chris Layer, Jacob Moody, Greg Robbins
